Crafted with cunning. Designed for impact.
Serving small businesses from our lair in East Texas — and anywhere else that needs us.
01 — Web Design
Built on WordPress. Handed over in full.
Every website we build runs on WordPress — the platform behind over 40% of the web. No proprietary traps, no mystery code, no “you can’t leave without us” nonsense. We handle the design, the development, and the ongoing care. Think of it as having a very resourceful kobold in your corner.
Service type 01
Informational
“Plant your flag. Claim your territory.”
Starting at~$750
“Marisol’s Mobile Notary.” Marisol runs a one-person notary and signing-agent business. She doesn’t need anything fancy — she needs a professional site that shows up when someone Googles “mobile notary near me,” explains her services, lists her coverage area, and gives people an easy way to call or message her. Right now she’s running her whole business off a Facebook page, and she’s losing customers who don’t use Facebook or can’t find her hours.
What a build like this gives her: A clean, professional site with her services, service area, about page, and contact info — built to look right on phones (where most of her customers find her) and optimized so search engines actually surface her. She finally looks as legitimate online as she is in person.
What’s included
A complete, professional website that tells your customers who you are, what you do, and how to reach you. Includes all the pages and sections your business needs — about, services, contact, blog — built to look great on every device and optimized so search engines can find you.
Also a good fit for
Service businesses, contractors, restaurants, churches, nonprofits, professionals — anyone who needs a strong web presence without complex functionality.
Service type 02
Functional
“Your website works as hard as you do.”
Starting at~$1,250
“Above & Beyond Mobile IV.” A mobile wellness business that takes appointments all day. Their problem isn’t looking good online — it’s that customers want to book online, and right now every booking is a phone tag nightmare. They need a site where a customer can see availability, book a slot, pay a deposit, and get a confirmation — without anyone picking up the phone.
What a build like this gives them: Everything an informational site has, plus a real booking system connected to an actual calendar, deposit collection at the time of booking, automatic confirmations and reminders, and forms that route where they’re supposed to. The website stops being a brochure and starts being an employee.
What’s included
Everything in an Informational build, plus your site does something. Online booking, quote request forms, client portals, event calendars, membership areas, third-party integrations — whatever your business needs your website to actually do beyond displaying information, we build it in.
Also a good fit for
Businesses that need their website to handle appointments, process requests, connect to other tools, or manage interactive features.
Service type 03
Commerce
“Open your shop. Guard your gold.”
Starting at~$2,500+
“Forge & Fawn Handmade.” A maker who sells candles and small-batch goods at weekend markets and through Instagram DMs. Sales are capped by how many markets they can physically attend, and “DM me to order” loses sales every time someone doesn’t want to message a stranger to buy a $20 candle. They’re ready to sell directly online — they just need a real store.
What a build like this gives them: A full online store with product listings, cart, secure checkout, payment processing, inventory tracking, and shipping setup. They sell while they sleep, and the platform licensing costs are disclosed upfront and passed through at cost — no markup buried in the build.
What’s included
A full online store built to sell. Product listings, shopping cart, secure checkout, payment processing, inventory management, and shipping configuration. Software licensing costs for e-commerce platforms are disclosed upfront and passed through at cost. No markups, no surprises.
Also a good fit for
Retail businesses, makers, artisans, and anyone ready to sell products or services directly through their website.
Service type 04
Site Rescue
“Send in the kobold. We’ve seen worse.”
Diagnostic fee$200$150
Early-bird rate — founding clients
Flat fee, and it credits toward the repair if you hire us.
“The business that paid someone else first.” They hired a cheap freelancer or a relative-of-a-friend, and now they’ve got a site that half-works: the header collapses on mobile, the booking button goes nowhere, the photos don’t match the business, and nobody knows the login. They’re embarrassed, a little burned, and not sure who to trust. They don’t want a sales pitch — they want an honest answer about whether it’s fixable and what it’ll cost.
What a Site Rescue gives them: A straight, no-judgment diagnosis of what’s actually wrong, sorted by what’s hurting the business most. They get a recorded walkthrough and a written findings report they can act on — whether they hire us, hand it to someone else, or fix it themselves.
What’s included
Already have a WordPress site that’s not doing what it should? We’ll crawl through the wreckage, give you an honest diagnosis, and quote you a fair price to get it right. The diagnostic fee covers a full review of your site’s design, functionality, security, and performance — and it credits toward the repair if you hire us to do the work.
What you get
A recorded video walkthrough of your entire site — every page, every issue, every opportunity, while you watch over our shoulder. Chaptered sections you can jump between, a written summary, and a full transcript. Use it as a DIY roadmap, or hire us to handle it at the quoted price.
Sprocket’s Standard

- WordPress on industry-standard hosting — no proprietary lock-in
- Mobile-responsive design that looks right on every screen

- Blog integration for ongoing content and credibility
- 50% deposit to start, balance on launch — no surprise invoices

02 — Ongoing Care
Torches lit. Gates secure.
Every website needs someone keeping the torches lit and the gates secure. Every plan we offer includes the same protective infrastructure — the differences are in how much hands-on attention we give your site, how fast we respond, and how proactively we look for opportunities to make it better.
Included in every plan
Nobody’s gating basic protection behind a premium tier.
- Reliable hosting on KnownHost infrastructure
- SSL certificate and forced HTTPS
- Daily off-site backups with 30-day rolling retention
- WordPress core, theme, and plugin security updates
- Login security and brute-force protection
- Disaster recovery if something breaks
- Uptime monitoring with email alerts
- Annual SSL renewal
-
Plan 01
Essential
“The set-it-and-forget-it owner.” A small business with a finished site that mostly doesn’t change. They update their own content, they’re comfortable enough to log in, and they don’t want to pay for hand-holding they won’t use. What they do want is to never lie awake wondering if their site is backed up and secure. Lights kept on, doors locked — nothing more.
Above and beyond
- Reactive support — we fix issues when you report them
- Response within 5 business days
- Changes billed à la carte, with prior approval
- Backup retention: 30 days rolling
- We handle restoration on request
Starting at$45/mo
-
Plan 02
Standard
“The busy owner who keeps meaning to update the site.” A business whose site needs small changes regularly — a new menu item, updated hours, a seasonal banner, a swapped photo — but the owner never has time and doesn’t want to relearn WordPress every time. They want someone who just handles it.
Everything in Essential, plus
- 1–2 hours of content updates or minor fixes per month (rolls over up to 4)
- Response within 2 business days
- Monthly health check email
- Google Business Profile maintenance
- Quarterly analytics review
- Backup retention: 90 days rolling
- Point-in-time restore available on request
Starting at$95/mo
-
Plan 03
Priority
“The owner who treats their website like a storefront, not a brochure.” A business where the website is a real revenue channel — bookings, orders, leads — and a broken CTA costs actual money the same day. They want someone watching proactively and thinking about how the whole digital presence works together. A partner on call, not a ticket queue.
Everything in Standard, plus
- 4–6 hours of updates, fixes or small features per month (rolls over up to 12)
- Same-business-day response, front of queue
- Proactive monitoring — we catch it before you notice
- Quarterly strategy review
- Social media CTA monitoring
- Reputation alerts on new Google & Facebook reviews
- Annual competitor scan
- Direct phone or text access during business hours
- Backup retention: 1 year rolling, with direct download access
Starting at$295/mo
What’s different about our approach
We don’t hold basic protection hostage.
Most agencies gate basic infrastructure behind premium tiers. Daily backups, security monitoring, SSL renewal — things that cost the agency nothing extra to provide — get held back to make the upgrade path look more compelling. We don’t do that.
All of our plans include the same protective infrastructure because we’d want that for our own business. What changes between tiers is how much of our time and attention you get, how fast we respond, and how proactively we look for ways to improve your digital presence. That’s what genuinely costs us more to provide at higher tiers, and that’s what you’re actually paying for.
Add-ons, all plans
- Additional content update hours beyond plan inclusion: $75/hr
- Emergency same-day response (Essential / Standard): $125 flat
- Custom development or new features: quoted as a separate engagement
- Print fulfillment or graphic design work: quoted à la carte
Plan notes
- Billed monthly, no long-term contract. Cancel anytime with 30 days’ notice.
- Included hours don’t roll over indefinitely — Standard caps at 4 hours, Priority at 12.
- Larger projects are quoted separately rather than charged against monthly hours.
- Upgrade or downgrade at any time, effective the next billing cycle.
The 12-month stability period
Not a contract trick. A practical reality.
Every new website includes a 12-month stability window. During this period, your hosting and core site infrastructure stay in place so we can ensure everything runs reliably, catch any issues early, and make sure your site performs the way it should.
Troubleshooting a website that’s changing hosting providers, swapping plugins, or getting modified by multiple hands is like trying to repair a castle while someone else is rearranging the foundation. The stability period lets us do our job well, and it protects your investment.
After 12 months, you’re completely free. Stay with us, switch, or take everything with you. We’ll help you pack — your files, your licenses, your entire site.
Individual services
Need just one piece of the puzzle?
Not ready for a full website yet? We offer individual services you can pick up whenever you need them.

We design, print and manage USPS Every Door Direct Mail campaigns. You pick the neighborhoods; we handle the rest.
03 — Graphic Design
You bring the materials. We’ll forge them into something sharp.
We specialize in taking your existing logos, colors, and brand identity and turning them into polished, professional materials — ready for print, screen, or anything in between. You bring us your assets and your ideas, we deliver finished designs you can use immediately. No mind-reading required.
What we do
- Business cards & stationery
- Flyers & brochures
- Social media graphics
- Digital ads
- Banners & signs
- Large-format design
- Event materials & programs
- Postcards & mailers
- Coupon cards
- EDDM campaign design
- If it involves design, ask
Print fulfillment
Need the actual printed product, not just the design file? We work with commercial print partners who produce and ship your finished materials directly to you. One point of contact, one invoice, done. From the forge to your front door.
Direct mail & EDDM
USPS Every Door Direct Mail puts your business in every mailbox within your target radius — no mailing list required. You pick the neighborhoods; we handle design, printing and postal logistics.
How pricing works
Quoted individually, because scope varies.
A set of business cards is a very different conversation than a 20-page event program. Here are two examples to give you a feel for the range:
“I need business cards that don’t look like I made them in Word.” A contractor with a logo and brand colors already in hand who needs a clean, professional business card designed and ready to print. Quick turnaround, tight scope, one or two proof rounds.
Roughly: business cards from $95, single-piece flyer design from $175
“We’re running a grand-opening campaign and need the whole set.” A new local business that needs a coordinated package — postcards for an EDDM mailer, matching social graphics, a storefront banner, and a flyer — all consistent with their brand. More pieces, more coordination, optional print and mail fulfillment.
Roughly: quoted as a package, typically $650–$2,400 depending on piece count and fulfillment
04 — Why Kobold
Small. Clever. Unreasonably honest.
Kobolds get a bad reputation. Small, scrappy, underestimated. But here’s the thing about kobolds: they’re resourceful, they’re clever, and they build things that work. That’s us.
We’ll be straight with you, because being straight with you is the entire point: Kobold Creative is a new agency. We’re building our client roster right now, which means two things for you. First, you get founding-client pricing and the kind of undivided attention that’s only possible when we’re not juggling fifty accounts. Second, we have every reason in the world to over-deliver — our reputation is being built on the work we do for the people who hire us early. You’re not a ticket number. You’re the foundation.
Too many small businesses get burned by web designers and agencies that hold their website hostage — proprietary platforms you can’t leave, code you can’t access, and monthly fees that climb but never get explained. We’ve seen the dragon’s-hoard approach to client work, and we think it’s garbage.
When we build your website, you own every file, every image, every line of code. If you ever want to take your business elsewhere, we’ll help you do it. We’ll literally pack your bags and hold the door.
We charge fair, flat-rate prices. We tell you what things cost before we start. We don’t bill you for software we get for free. And we build on open-source technology that any competent developer can work with, because your business shouldn’t depend on any one person — including us.
We’re a small agency. We like it that way. It means every project gets our actual attention, not a junior designer and an auto-reply. Sprocket doesn’t do assembly lines.

05 — FAQ
Questions? We’ve got answers.
Are you a new business? Have you done this before?
Yes, Kobold Creative is new — and no, we’re not going to pretend otherwise. The person behind it has the design and development skills to do this work well; the agency is just early in building its client list. That’s good news for you: founding clients get our best pricing, our full attention, and an agency that’s highly motivated to make your project something we can proudly show off. Everything we build, you own outright — so there’s no risk of being tied to an unproven vendor.
Do I really own everything you build for me?
Yes. Every file, every image, every line of code. If you ever want to leave, we’ll help you pack. Your website is your property, not ours.
What’s the 12-month stability period?
For the first 12 months, your hosting and core site infrastructure stay in place so we can make sure everything runs reliably. It protects your investment and lets us do our job properly. After that, you’re free to stay, leave, or take everything with you.
I already have hosting. Can you still build my site?
Yes. We prefer to host on our own infrastructure because it makes support and maintenance easier, but we’ll work with your existing hosting. The stability period still applies — we need the hosting environment to stay consistent so we can troubleshoot effectively.
What if I just need one thing, not a whole website?
We offer individual services like domain setup, hosting, social media profiles, email configuration, and plugin installation. Check out our à la carte options, or tell us what you need through the quote form.
How long does a website build take?
Most informational sites take 2–4 weeks from deposit to launch. Functional builds run 3–6 weeks. Commerce sites can take 4–8 weeks depending on complexity. The biggest variable is usually how quickly you get us your content and feedback — we can’t build what we don’t have yet.
Do you do logos?
Our strength is taking your existing brand assets and turning them into finished materials — business cards, flyers, web graphics, and everything else. If you need a logo created from scratch, we can coordinate that through our network of specialists and make sure the result works across everything we build for you.
What happens if something breaks?
If you’re on one of our maintenance plans, we handle it. Essential covers security and disaster recovery. Standard and Priority include progressively more hands-on support. If you’re not on a maintenance plan, you can always reach out for one-time service.
Can I update my own website?
Absolutely. WordPress is built for this, and we build sites specifically so you can manage your own content. We’ll walk you through the basics at launch. If you’d rather not touch it yourself, our Standard and Priority maintenance plans include content updates.
06 — Portfolio
Work from the forge.
We’re just getting started, so this corner of the forge is still warming up. Our first showcase piece is this very website — built on the same WordPress foundation, ownership principles, and flat-rate honesty we’d bring to yours.
As we complete projects for our founding clients, their work shows up here. If you’d like your business to be one of the first pieces in the case — and get founding-client pricing while you’re at it — let’s talk.
